Collecting pottery and using it daily has enriched my life. I have filled my home with artwork and ceramics, both decorative and functional.
It all started when I threw my first pot in 1972 and the excitement, the thrill, is still there. The responsiveness of clay, the way it records every nuance of the maker’s touch, is incredibly revealing and rewarding. Learning is constant. The firing is a mysterious birthing event, where I surrender control to the kiln gods who put the final touches on the vessel. Opening the kiln is like experiencing Christmas morning when I was a boy. There are exciting surprises and some disappointments, too. There is always room to grow, ideas to bring to fruition, experiments to try, and new glazes to test. It doesn’t get better than this.
I created this online store to share my love of clay with others all over the world. All of my products are handmade in my workshop and studio just a few blocks from my house. I hope you find something you love!
All art work for sale on this website is one of a kind. Each piece is hand made and photographed individually. What you see is what I ship. Become a collector!
Hand made one of a kind pottery has a special place in every home. Pottery is a visual and tactile experience. The balance of a mug, the feel of it on your lips, its warmth as you cradle it your hands, all those qualities add value to your experience as a user, and are part of my intention as a maker, when I thoughtfully combine form, color, style and design to my work.
“Love at first touch” is a good way to describe my first experience with clay, some forty-five years ago. I still love it. I love going to my studio every day and making pottery.
I want you to enjoy owning my work as much as I enjoy making it. I hope, as you explore my website, you find something that works for you, that brings you pleasure for years to come!

Making and being surrounded by beautiful hand-made objects, sometimes given or received as gifts, passed down from one generation to the next, connects us to people and places and times shared between friends. I like creating objects that endure and may become part of that web.
