Design intentions: these forms originate from the concept of storage containers. I am thinking all the way back to Stone Age baskets and pottery. People have always needed secure places to store things, and pottery served that purpose. My lidded pieces are built on tradition. They may be small functional jars, or casseroles, or larger containers that will most likely simply be used as decorative objects.
